Host Your Own Soup for the Cultured Soul

One of Castlegar’s favourite social events is back – with a twist. Kootenay Gallery is on the move and now the soup event is too. The Kootenay Gallery is looking for people to host in your homes or wherever you prefer.
Organize a party of between 4 and 10 people. On the day of March 26, volunteers will deliver gourmet soups from each of the participating restaurants with heating and serving instructions, hand-crafted pottery bowls that each person can keep, buns donated by Castlegar Safeway, bottles of Hester Creek wine, and Doodle Bug Chocolates. The package will also contain recipe books, activity ideas, and coupons.
The chefs who are creating this year’s soups are from The Black Rooster, Chef’s Choice, The Grateful Table (formerly The Wandering Greek Oven), Kim’s Catering Creations and The Nineteenth.
Cost is $55 for Hosts and Gallery Members or $65 for guests who are not Gallery Members. This is a good value as the bowls alone often retail for $30 to $45, the soups are spectacular and we will be generous with the wine.
Funds raised through this fun event will go towards relocating the gallery downtown.
