Summer Student Job Opportunity
Kootenay Gallery of Art, History and Science Society
Are you interested in working in a fun and artistic work environment? Kootenay Gallery of Art, History and Science Society is looking for a summer student to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Gallery. This position is open to students between the ages of 17-30 years.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in the arts and will report directly to the Executive Director. Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with implementation of visual art exhibitions
- Supporting community engagement programs / workshop events
- Liaising with regional artists
- Performing gift shop inventory and sales
- Social media marketing
- Basic researching skills / experience
- Special projects including researching potential indigenous and cultural diversity initiatives, identifying regional indigenous artists & artisans
Assets:
- Interest in art education, studio art, and/or art history
- Interest and/or experience in community programming
- Interest and/or experience in event management
- Strong social media skills
Hours – 21-35 hours per week for 16 weeks, may include some weekends and evenings
Salary – $17.40 per hour
Start Date – May 14, 2024
Some evening and weekend work may be required.
