2026 Exhibition Schedule
April 23 – May 30th: “Young Visions” presented by SD20 students & instructors
Opening Reception: April 23, 2026, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Celebrate the next generation of local talent at Young Visions 2026, a vibrant exhibition featuring diverse artworks from SD20 students and instructors. This showcase highlights the power of mentorship and artistic growth, offering a unique look at the creativity and dedication defining youth arts education in our region. Admission is by donation; join us at the Kootenay Gallery of Art to experience the energy and vision of these emerging artists.
June 4th – June 13th: 35th Annual Photo Show by the West Kootenay Camera Club
Opening Reception: June 5th, 2026
The West Kootenay Camera Club (WKCC) is hosting its 35th annual Photo Show. The club’s objective is to promote the interest in Photographic Arts in the West Kootenay area of BC. Members are from the surrounding community of Castlegar, the Greater Trail area, Nelson, and Balfour.
The exhibition follows the club’s long-running Photo Salon print competition, which is open to photographers of all skill levels across the region and beyond.
June 18 – Aug 8: “Textures of Canada” by Grand National

Textures of Canada is a touring exhibition of Canadian Fibre Art curated by Judy Weiss, Edmonton, AB. The exhibition explores national identity through the medium of fine art textiles. Over 30 established and emerging fibre artists from across our country interpret to what it means to be Canadian, and to be an artist in Canada.
Aug 13 – Oct 31: “How Dogs Connect Us” by Kimberly Hyatt

This is a light hearted and accessible exhibition stemming from a a unique idea developed by Hyatt to have Castlegar residents, and members of the surrounding community, engage in an Artist Card trading initiative as part of an evolving exhibition.

Sept 3 – Oct 31: “Reflections of Ourselves” by Tracey Lawko

Reflections of Ourselves is a collaborative art project that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Canadians. Over 40 million people live on Turtle Island within the boundaries of Canada. Indigenous peoples (First Nations and Inuit) are the original inhabitants of this land, whose presence here reaches back to time immemorial. Some of us are recent arrivals while others trace ancestors who have been here for many generations.
