HERE’S A BIG SHOUT OUT to all you photographers out there. Once again, the West Kootenay Camera Club (WKCC) wishes to notify you that we will be accepting entries for our annual photograph salon in the new year. It is wise to begin to think about what you want to take photos of and be on the lookout for interesting subjects. Some of these scenes will present themselves in the fall time and some in the winter…so be prepared.
Interesting photo categories available again this time are…

- Nature
- Human Interest
- Creative Images
- Flowers, Plants, or Fruit
- Portraiture
- Architecture
- Travel
- Open
- A special new category, added this year is “Junk”; again making 10 categories.
The club voted in this new category out of many options and we hope everyone will have fun with it in creative ways. The competition rules and definitions of the categories will be detailed on the entry forms and available on the club website- www.westkootenaycameraclub.com. Response to our offering last year was wonderful. It kept our club members and chosen judges very busy preparing them and displaying them for the public. This encourages us to go for broke again this time and we are excited to see what you, our friends and neighbors will come up with to add to our show. There is a lot of talent here and we see this as a great celebration of life in the Kootenays. So get out your cameras and start looking at your surroundings with the eye of the photographer; and watch for our announcements in the spring regarding the details of this contest.
