Daichun-Swanson-Fahie Trio

Two recent musical imports team up with one of the Kootenay’s most well-known performers

Vocalist Melody Diachun, saxophonist Clinton Swanson and bassist Rob Fahie team up to present an afternoon of jazz at the Kootenay Gallery in Castlegar. These three musicians have performed throughout the Kootenays i various configurations, but never in this intimate trio setting, without drums or a harmony instrument. Melody Diachun is a busy performer and educator, having recently taken the role as vocal instructor at Selkirk College. Fahie (otherwise known as Little Miss Gelato), also new to the Kootenays, has toured the world as music director to jazz prodigy Nicky Yanofsky. Clinton Swanson, a perennial favourite and local Kootenay boy, continues to stimulate audiences with his innovative performances. From standards by Thelonious Monk and Bill Evans to classics from the American Songbook as well as original works, the event is not to be missed!
